Cabs honking, birds chirping, people walking by, strangers murmuring, the hum of a local library or café—strangely enough, we miss the bustling sounds of the city.

A new immersive experience, The New York Public Library in partnership with creative agency Mother New York released a collection of audio landscapes that evoke some of the sounds of New York. Missing Sounds of New York connects its listeners around the familiar sounds of the city that we long for during this unprecedented time of social separation.

From The Not-Quite-Quiet-Library to the familiar ear of Romancing Rush Hour, it's the playlist that you can visit for that needed white noise while working remotely, or if you simply want the aural comfort of the city right from your home.

You can stream Missing Sounds of New York on Spotify or Soundcloud.
