To our dear customers,
andanté and partner brands from Stride Collective take pride in ethical manufacturing where we ensure that workers are paid well and are in good working conditions.
As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) begins to have an impact on our community, we will try to be as transparent as we can with the measures we’ll take to keep you and our employees healthy.
Here's a message from one of our partner manufacturers—
"These next few weeks (and maybe months) will probably be the hardest time for any kind of business, but most especially for local entrepreneurs (and freelancers too). MSMEs might not probably have much to enable them to survive weeks and months of low sales, low production, cancelled events and other snowball effects of this kind of situation.
And who are hit the hardest? The people they employ or engage in affiliate businesses. For those who give at least give a damn about their workers, this is where the rubber meets the road. This is when values are tested, when any action you might do will be met with judgement, either by your peers or your workers themselves. Some might choose to employ the “greater good” philosophy for the sake of their survival, some would rather take the hit and extend themselves for as long as they can.
But maybe now is not the time for judgement, because this crisis is hard enough without it. The question is, as local entrepreneurs what do we do now to help each other? With so much uncertainty happening, how do we enable each other to stay afloat? How do we encourage each other to think of the welfare of workers who are the heart and soul of our businesses?"
As of today (March 13, 2020), our production team will still be at work with precautionary actions taken, and will willingly close down at any given time if needed. Our retail space will be closed on the weekend.
Deliveries will be limited for the safety of our drivers.
At this time of difficulty, we understand that retail and shopping is not the top priority of the general public. However, if you have more than enough, we encourage you to take advantage of your privilege, to purchase the shoes you’ve been eyeing for a while to help alleviate this situation and provide continuous salaries for our makers. On our end, we’ll be reducing 15% off our profit margin— 15% off site wide
Retail companies, fashion, clothes wont save the world or give healing to those affected; but your support can make a whole lot of difference to our shoemakers and their families.
To everyone, consume consciously and slowly still, and remember that this is the best time to support local.
UPDATE (as of March 18, 2020):
With the Enhanced Community Quarantine issued by the Philippine Government due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we've temporarily paused our shipping operations.
Orders will still be accepted through our online store and will be on hold for shipment until further notice. Please expect extended delays in deliveries starting today.
Our team is working remotely from home and always ready to assist any time—you can still shop your favorites and continue supporting our makers here at www.andante.shop.
